Looking for any tips for painting a batch of new internal doors. I have painted plenty of doors but normally just take them off and lay them flat one or two at a time as rooms are decorated. This time I need to paint 6 new ones and wondered how the pros would set this up on a job site to get them all done without having to wait around or keep moving them.

Also, I've always sealed the edges with oil based paint, even though I finish everything in water based to avoid yellowing. Any views if this is really necessary or will acrylic do a good enough job to stop warping?

Cut 4 x 150mm strips of wood and screw through the middle to the top and bottom of door edges.
You now have 4 legs.
Paint one side and flip over straight away so it stands on legs. Paint the other side and edges.

As for preparing the edges. I used zinsser BIN one coat inc the top and bottom edges to seal and stop moisture getting in the door.
I then powder fill edges and sand smooth. Always liked my edges glass smooth. Need 320 grade sandpaper for those.
Acrylic undercoat. See what your chosen paint manufacturer says on the data sheet about which undercoat.
Quality top coat of paint.
I'd use Uni-Pro High Tech Micro-Fibre 6.5" 4mm Nap 2 Pack. Makes easy work and spray like finish.
Put a summer fan on to move air cut the drying time.

Edit. I tired these however I found making legs worked better from scraps of wood.
