Painting on a lead roof

Hi,

We have a bay window with a small lead roof on it that could do with a new coat of paint. We were planning on using Farrow & Ball exterior paint (eggshell or masonry).

Can anyone recommend how to prepare and prime lead for a paint finish?

Give it a rub over with some fine grade wire wool..used with water to keep the dust down then two coats of gloss straight on.
