I applaud you guys who do exterior painting for a living as it is not for the faint hearted - As I am finding out!! I am currently painting my house which is spardashed around the first floor above the normal red house brick.

It is very slow and laborious but the one thing I cannot solve is how to avoid my roller getting clogged with spardash?

I brush the wall to remove loose stones, then use a 12" long haired roller to lay the paint. No matter how much I load the roller it does not fill the voids very well and I finish off with a brush. After a couple of runs, the roller is full of spardash.

It has taken me all morning to do only 5 sq m with 45 to go!!

Any tips would be welcomed. - cheers

I have given up doing spar rendering...nightmare!

But when I did i used to give it all a good brushing with a stiff broom in all different directions, also...find yourself somewhere to spin the roller against every now an again to remove the loose bits that are stuck to the sleeve.

The type of sleeve an make a difference too..i use a pro dec lifetimer sleeve they are 10 inch and have a foam lining to make it easier to roll.
