Paintwork Damage

I let my car get a bit dirty and some chavs have written some amusing lines in the dirt. You know the type

Bit concerned they'll stay even when I clean it. How best should I clean to remov them completely?

Wash using plenty of water, if it still shows use polish, if it still shows use T cut.

if it is a metallic paint then DON'T use T-Cut. it will the lacquer coat too much.

gentle polishing with a normal cream based car wax will do it but make sure you always polish it in straight lines across or along the panel. never go around in circles as it shows up in the finish as 'swirls' - especially at night time under street lights.
