Panorama - The Smart Meter mess

Going on the report of a failed meter from Nwgs comms could be the cause
No the meter was faulty and was replaced by the supplier.

I’ve previously stated this.

Stop guessing, you look daft enough.

so do you think they should have just bypassed cadent and turned them back on remotely ?
The main issues reported are to do with comms. I've asked what the figures are for meters shutting off and you don't know. It's hard to gauge just how much of a problem it actually is in the real world in that case.

I suspect if it was a major problem we'd have heard a lot more about it.

hard to gauge what that hard the regulator agreed . oh deary me you are clutching at straws now .

I have been involved in safety critical work. A gas and an electricity meter could be seen as being in need of that. The solution would be that the base state just continues to supply irrespective of system faults. A fault must put it back into that state.

I have several times, over the years, been in the situation of a comms failure, when switching suppliers, and for lengthy amounts of time - sometimes many months, not an equipment failure, supplier issues. Never once, has that resulted in my being cut off.
