Panorama - The Smart Meter mess

Customer service isnt their strong point really tell me the percentage of uncontrolled gas escapes they hit within 1 hour of customer phoning up.
Mine beat that but the process in my case had it's crazy aspects. I was told to do certain thing such as open all windows, A no go until I said that I had. ;) My leak and meter was not in the house. Explained but no joy. The bloke I was talking to had to go though a process that assumed the leak was in the house. LOL opening the front door would let gas into the house.

He’s just being a clown because he’s wrong and resorts to his usual nonsense.

Let’s hope the thread stays…

Correct! I was an early adopter, and had what later was called the SMETS 1 installed, which resulted in all the issues when switching suppliers - the switch, ought to have been foreseen, but wasn't. It was upgraded, a few years ago, to SMETS 2, I cannot recall whether it was 'over the air', or they came to the door to do it, or whether it happened before, or during my previous supplier switch, but what I do remember is that - my last supplier switch, to Octopus, but what I do remember was how slick the switch was, and they were getting meter readings, over the air, almost instantly.

During my time with SM's, I have had three sets of meters. These were the original SMETS1, where when I changed supplier, they had to also change then meters, so they could communicate. In part at least, the meter swaps, were a result of my complaints to my new suppliers, that the meters were failing to provide them with readings.
3 lots of meters in how long ?

and if you take the trouble to look at the low scores are to do with the road digging/supply side which isnt the internal side do try and keep up
See he hates his own industry.

I imagine it would be different if he was a decent engineer.

been to explosions where the leak was outside filling the property with right amount of gas , ventilating the property helps stop houses filling with gas to explosive levels even at times when the leak is external.

Which would be the correct procedure, gas is explosive, between certain concentrations, above and below those limits, it will not ignite.
