We've just bought a house which has a sloping ceiling in the Lounge. Its arranged as sort of a "Lean-to" off the side of the main building and the internal ceiling follows the external roofline, so it slopes from 2.2m or so, upto 3-3.5m high at the peak.

In that ceiling they've installed five 120w PAR38 spotlights in eyeball style fittings. I'd really like to replace this with something more modern, as 600w of lighting feels a little excessive. They're also brass colored and look really dated.

I happened to have a spare round LED panel downlight from the bathroom of our old house, which at 225mm in diameter fits perfectly in the ceiling cutout in place of the eyeball spotlight. So i swapped that in just to test it out, but discovered immediately that the angle of the ceiling and the flat mounted light means it ends up shining directly into your eyeballs when your sat on the couch.

I was hoping i could find some sort of LED based fitting that is somewhat adjustable, like the original eyeballs are, in order to point the light straight down, or in the case of one of them, towards a feature wall.

But i cant find anything that big thats also has some sort of swivel mechanism. I've found a few, but they tend to fit into smaller 80 or 100mm cutouts, rather than my giant 200mm cutouts. So just wondering if anyone has seen anything similar or make any suggestions, short of ripping the ceiling down and replacing it with one that doesnt have massive holes in it :)

Thanks

333rocky333: seen those, but they're generally too small. That ones only 140mm for instance.

winston1: I did contemplate changing the bulbs to LED, but decent brand PAR38 LED bulbs arent cheap, and wouldnt get around the horrible looking fittings. Painting them might work, but could also go quite wrong :p

Maybe i could make an adaptor like pictured from MDF or ally sheet or something.
