I'm planning a extension which has 2 parapet walls, ~2.1m long with a glass roof in between. What are my options for capping the top of the wall (which will be render btw. I'd like to keep the level low, so just above the slope of the roof, and then bring the flashing down from the wall top to meet the roof window so the "inside" wall is all covered up.

It's at first floor level so lead sounds a bit of risk of being pinched, but maybe that is the simplest.

Can you post sketches of what you propose?

Does planning require parapets or harmony with local building design?

By and large, stay away from parapets - they can be an endless source of detailing trouble while building new, and a source of constant maintenance difficulties in the future.

Is what I'm trying to achieve if that helps. I suppose my other alternative is a glass roof with side furrings but then I'd end up with a high shelf that tapers to nothing. Left wall has some high windows side it would otherwise look out on to a passage way. Right side has bi-fold which extends under the balcony. Hence I need a real lintel on right and also on the left. Front, hopeful is just a conservatory style beam on top of a 3m slider.
