Hi
I intend to make a new front entrance to my 1980`s bungalow . I will be removing an existing double glazed window and substituting it with a upvc
front door and smaller window. I wish to leave the original lintel, so my height is restricted to about 2055mm. The door I have chosen is 900mm wide inc. frame.

Question. Do I have to comply with part M of the building regs ? ie...minimum door widths etc.
Obviously non of the existing internal doors or front entrance complies at the moment.

NB The new smaller window has the same opening size as the original opening part of the removed larger window so no difference in escape/ ventilation.

Regards

No, it's an existing property so you don't have any worries re Part M. You will need either BRegs appro or a FENSA-registered installer to do the work though.

Hi
I thought as much, its just nice to have conformation.
Thanks for the prompt reply.

Cheers
