Patching in render

Hi all. So my house is 20 years old and covered in Monocouche render. I have just had some bifolds fitted which has left about 500mm around the entire opening of blockwork that I need to patch in.

I plan on doing this myself and as there is no chance of getting the colour to match with new through-colour render my plan was to patch in using a normal cement/sand/lime render mix and then paint the whole elevation with an airless sprayer.

I'm aware that the textural finish is also likely to differ too so I plan on making a kind of rubber stamp using an old block with the old render on as a mould and then gently pressing it into the wet new render. I've tested it on a smaller scale and surprisingly works well and once painted couldn't see the difference.

Does anyone see anything wrong with my plan as mentioned above and if so what you would do differently?

I look forward to reading your advice.

The patch above the bifolds and down the sides are a bit raggedy, I would suare all the edges up so that you have straight lines to patch to.

Ahhh got you, as in cut down to make straight lights.

I was also thinking about tapering the edges at an angle so it tapers towards inwards so that the new render overlaps the old on the taper if you know what I mean. Was thinking it might be better than just a straight butt joint?? What do you think?
