patio doors and conservatories

I was just wondering if it possible to have just an arch way opening into a conservatory instead of patio doors.
The reason for this question is because we are thinking about getting a conservatory but to cut the cost is to have a arch way.
Would that be ok?

it will effect heat loss and fire regs so you may need building regs.

A conservatory without a door to the existing building will be classed as an extension and therefore will require relevant planning and building regs
