Hi All, I'm removing decking that was installed when we purchased our house 4 years ago.
We live in Scotland and one side was ramped to comply with DDA Regs, and the rear doors has a low threshold for wheelchair access.
We haven't exactly decided what/how we are designing it yet, until it's all removed, we can then see what area we have, as the decking was massive!!
Anyway 2 questions.
1. Do we need to still comply with DDA Access when we design/build the new patio area? I.e do we still need ramped access at the rear? If we don't will it cause issues when we sell the house?
2. Please see attached photos. As mentioned we haven't decided on anything yet, but will be hard pushed getting a slab to fit under that gap between the concrete slab and the window frame? It would need to be the thickness of a decking board including the mortar!
Any ideas how to best finish up near the door? As without cutting into that slab, I either need to cover the frame vents (there are air vents around the bottom of the main hose structure) and hope to have clearance for the doors to open, or start the slabs beyond that concrete slab and leave it visible....
Also that base below the surface looks like Type 1 to me? If it is, will rake clean the top layers and sand/cement screed straight on top, it certainly looks like Type 1 to me?
