Had the driveway sealed in Covid by a local firm who were expensive, and the job rather poor (I feel). I've just cleaned and re-sanded the driveway myself. I'm not a pro, and the job looks OK.
Having been put off by sealing from the experience of the first time, I decided what the H and just went for it.
I applied a coat of Sika Patio Seal, and it looks fine. The £60 and a few hours I've spent certainly look value for money when I consider the £1000 I paid during Covid, and wasn't overly impressed with it. If its £60 and a few hours a year thats required, then fine I guess...
Anyway, the Sika sealant says apply a second coat within 2 hours. Naively and due to not being a pro, I only bought one tub of 5L seal, so don't have enough for a second coat. What is the science/reason behind this 2 hour specification? What will happen if I apply a second coat tomorrow?
My head is saying, surely nothing "bad" is going to occur?
