Are these Dorset pebbles different to 20mm pea gravel. Or is it basically the same?

Pea shingle is normally 5 or 10 mm.

The pebbles come in different sizes as does shingle but the pebbles will usually be a lot dearer.

Our drive was loose 10mm shingle over concrete which had originally been tar sprayed and chipped. SWMBO wanted something "better" and we must have looked at 50 plus different stone types at garden centres and builders merchants before she decided on normal shingle but 20mm. She then embarrased me by asking the guy about available colour!! Still 3 bulk bags made a cheap drive.

Pea shingle escapes from your drive on the wheels of cars and soles of shoes. You have to keep raking or sweeping it back.

Pebbles can be a bit awkward to walk on if you are unsteady on your feet.

Both are difficult for a pram, bike or wheelchair.

I have been very pleased with rolled hoggin.

This is what I have is this pebbles or shingle?

You have not included anything to show scale.

Top right of the first photo there are some stone blocks which you sort of feel could well be 100-150mm thick.

And top left of the second one has what looks like a wall-plug lying there.

Ah sorry they all look around 20mm some less
