I'm always looking for the next easy quid. I think pest control has potential. Do I need training?

Hmmm, Can you tell the difference between a mouse and a rat?
Do you know the difference between cat fleas and dog fleas?
Can you tell the difference between a wasp and a hornet?
Do you know the difference between a 7 spot ladybird and a harlequin ladybird?

Probably need training Joe. Pest control also use poisonous chemicals etc that need careful handling and they have to be up to date with all current legislation concerning chemicals, poisons, wildlife, environment etc.

Yes I know all of those things and more. I'm pretty well up on chemicals too.

I'm a smart cookie (even though most folk in here prefer to think of me as a fool).

I would imagine there is a lot of training to do, or more so knowledge gathering.

Would you know the difference between a German, American and Oriental cockroach? which one can fly? Would you use gel, spray or powder, etc etc

I dont think the industry is regulated by a certain body, but that ay well put off customers if someone isnt.

I don't think many consider you a fool Joe, just a bit of a sad old Troll who contributes little, other than negative criticism.

Speak for yourself.

They can all fly. It doesn't really matter whether you use spay or powder - you just follow the instructions on the pack.

We were about to undertake a fascia job on an elderly lady's house and the surveyor picked up on a wasps nest in the loft. We said she would have to get someone in to get rid before we started.

Almost in tears she called me exclaiming the prices ranged from £200 to £500 with some bloke asking for £900

So I call my mate Dave who pops over with a Henry Vacuum and a long attachment, job done £25, old woman chuffed to bits

Since then we now have 3 Henry Vacuums in our Arsenal, ready for battle at any time.

Only the oriental cockroach can fly.

You wouldnt use a spray to kill them, once it dries cockroaches can survive. You would use a gel.
