Peugeot 206 balljoint

Changing cv joint on my peugeot 206 without much success . Having big problems separating lower suspension ball joint . Had no trouble at all splitting the balljoint but cant move suspension arm down far enough to allow balljoint to clear it . Tried jacking the strut up at the same time as forcing the arm down with large bar but all i got to show for it was four split knuckles when bar sliped . Anyone got any suggestions before i waste another day scratching my head .

Is there an anti-roll bar that needs disconnecting (maybe from both sides?) to let the bottom link drop further?

IIRC I removed the complete lower link to get it out of the way last time I changed a joint.

a large bar and a helper is the only way i know unless you can get it up on garage ramps and use a length of rope to pull it down with your foot
