Peugeot 306 Diesel - Clock/Outside Temp display not working

D

DGS

With the ignition on there is no display on the indicator - the car manual shows several possible fuses and all have been checked OK - does anybody have a diagram for this circuit or are able to tell me where the power is routed from for this instrument - ie are there any relays involved etc?

Many thanks.

define 'display not working'

The instrument appears to have the positive supply to keep the time information when the ignition is off (just about able to see the figures if you shade the indicator), but with the ignition on there is no change to the display - the bulbs in the indicator for this have also been checked and they are Ok - hence my request for the power routing to it.

Thanks.

is the car new to you?

just a thought, i have an astra which can suffer the same "problem" if you turn the display dimmer down

it may also be the display lamp that has failed, but check to see if you have a "display dimmer knob / dial / lever" mine is adjacent the light switch and is easily unintentionaly moved

i have the same thing in my car... was confusing when all of a sudden the internal lights didnt work after a knocked 'something' when putting lights on

that makes me feel better, at least i am not the only one who admits to doing it

fotunatly, i was on my own at the time...

Yes the car is new to me - however, obviously not 'top of the range model' - where the manual shows the dimmer switch to be there is just a blank!

what happens if you turn the lights on?

i will guess the lamp has failed

No difference with lights on or off - the bulbs within the instrument are OK - if I can find out where the supply for these comes from I can trace the fault from there.

i bet its still the lamp that lights your display that is at fault.
