Anyone know how I can stop the drivers door sticking out? Its proud by about 3mil and looks pants. I've seen one or two others like it. Its a W reg 2000 5 door hatch.

Cheers.

Simply adjust the door lock pin that is mounted on the B pillar, it may take a bit of trial and error to get it perfect.

However, there may be an underlying reason, has it been hit at all??

I was told by a bloke who is one of the engineers that design Fiat's panel-fitting robots that some people notice panel-gap issues more than others. Apparently it is a curse, every time he sees a car all he can see are flaws in the panel mounting.

So, seeing as you have seen several 306s like it, it might actually be within manufacturing tolerances, your keen eyes are the problem!

A bit off topic but I'm a member of a great 306 forum that's got loads of info and really friendly atmosphere. They will definatly guide you in the right direction as to how to adjust the door:

Cheers voicy that's the sort of thing i've looked for for a while. This place (obviously) majors on diy ;)

AdamW - lol pretty sure it shouldn't look like this. French cars aren't (weren't) up to German / Japanese standards I know but wide gaps I can take, but looked at from behind the door sticks out and I know this aint right !!!

Hitachimad, had a japanese girlfriend who came from hitachi ;) Experimented with the door side clasp and that didn't move. The B - pillar : couldn't see anything obvious but will have another look. I only need to tighten it a bit or slide it in or something.

Cheers for the tips guys.
