Exhaust hit road hump yesterday!

Centre support bush came out and two rear ones broke!

I tied it up to complete the journey, not as high as it should be and manifold joint was blowing.

Today I reconnected the centre support and Q-F gave me one which I fitted at the back. Its not blowing much now but is still leaking and letting CO into the car.

What is likely to have happened to the manifold joint ? Its behind a heat cover so I cannot look at it.

Possibly snapped bolts/studs, in the manifold, a cracked manifold,(cast, crack easy),? stretched bolts in adjoining sections could also add up

As far as I can tell the manifold is solid but the joint, however that works, was clearly loose when I felt it before I finally placed the exhaust in the mountings.

Put your car up on ramps, start the engine and have your mate cover the end of the exhaust with a rag. You look along the exhaust for the leak(s).

As I tried to explain, the leakage is at the connection onto the manifold but this is behind heatshield and has little space between engine and bulkhead.

I dont know what kind of joint is used on this car ( yet ).

if its had a good smack whatever flexi coupling is used on the front joint may have snapped bolts or the sealing ring may have come out
