More of a legal question than repair. Any help much appreciated.
My brother in law bought a Peugot 807 deisel `as is' so knew what he was buying therefore no comeback from seller.
He had problems with `anti pollution fault' and car kept cutting out. Took into into main dealer for diagnostic - £100 - they identified the problem as the failed deisel pump. Replaced and repaired -£1000 - and said it was now ok. Driving along 2 hours later same problem occured. Went back to main dealer who then said ahh, the injector is blocked as something was stuck in the injector they would need to dismantle engine and repair - £2000 - My question is, should the garage have spotted this in their original diagnostic instead of repairing what they thought was wrong?
Does he have any comeback?
