Every electrician has been electrocuted, most electricians have been electrocuted more than once, some electricians get electrocuted all the time.

Wow, coming back from the dead only to do it again for kicks... the sign of a true sparky...

one thing that always makes me smile is when people say "you must be used to shocks by now bein a sparky"

feckin idiots, why dya think its called a shock

If you`re getting shocks then you must be doing something wrong

Agreed. Many older sparks seem to believe they have some sort of immunity to damage by electricity. They've just been lucky. No electrician should expect to get shocks as a part of the job; if you get a belt it's because you, or somebody else, has acted irresponsibly.

That muppet Billy Byrne on DIY-SOS needs a good slapping; his incompetent clowning around perpetuates the myth that a shock is nothing but a minor inconvenience.

I get shocks all the time! ferking fridges at work building up static  and me building up static in my polyester trousers  One touch and ZZZZAP

His blatant disregard for safety as well.Remember the episode where the plasterers were putting plaster over live cables - BANG.And another where he cut through a live cable by accident. It was all treated as a big joke and this is the guy that DIYers are supposed to be looking to for guidance.
And I've never seen him test

You appear to be confused with "Execution" and Electricution which may or may not result in a fatality.

Jaymack

I think "Electrocution" only when fatal.

Otherwise Shock.

I've heard the term "Electrocution" was invented to mean "Electrical Execution" when the Chair was introduced in the States and thought to be more modern and humane than hanging.

Apart from smelling your own flesh burn and having your eyeballs burst while you suffocate from your chest being in spasm, I suppose.
