My wachine machine, has in the past 22 years of its life, only ever had to have the motor brushes replaced about two or three times.

However it now does not seem to be emptying properly. I have put a multimeter across the pump and it reads about 22 ohms but is there possibly a problem relating to the pump?. The machine makes a humming/buzzing sound when its supposed to empty which my dad thinks is the pump meaning electricity is reaching it but im not convinced or jump to conclusions like he does.

Any ideas.

Yes. Yesterday I removed the pump and looked inside the pipework area and apart from some muck inside the pipes attached to the pump there is no heavy blocking inside the pipes or the pump itself so as you say it must be a worn out pump. A friend yesterday gave us a second hand machine (newer machine) which works. I liked our old one but I dont suppose you could get a new pump for a machine as old as this (either that or get one with great difficulty and expense)?

Can you post a picture of the pump? Might be able to tell you then if it's repairable or if there's an alternative.

Sorry fopr the delay in replying, but I dont have access to a camera. As I said though, it does not look blocked so it could well be something complex with the pump. Its a shame about the machine but there again nothing lasts forever, after all newer machines often dont last anywhere near this long so I cant really complain.

The pump motor has had it. It's passed over and needs laying to rest.
If you can't post a picture we're not really going to be able to help much further. Shame really as I was hoping an askol motor would do the job.
