Hello i have a phillips tv about 4 yrs old , the speech does'nt match the movements of the actors mouths its out of sync and the picture ocassionally freezes is their anything to adjust or replace ??

Whats the source of the video. Virgin cable, sky etc...?

Do you have the sound coming out of the TV or via a separate hifi system?
How is it connected?

Its via a freeview box

yes there is sound but its not in sync with the movement

And you have the sound coming out of the TV and not via a separate hifi or surround sound system?

Yes , the sound comes out of the tv not any hifi etc thanks

That rules out the common cause then. Flat screen tv's include some form of picture processing which introduces a delay. If audio is taken directly from the box no delay is applied which causes the issue you have seen.

I would go through the settings of the freeview box and make sure there is nothing there set to add a delay to the audio. Maybe do a full reset if it has the option just to be sure.

If you still experience a problem then try unplugging the cable which goes to the freeview and connecting it to a dvd player to see if the problem still occurs. Basically you have to use trial and error to see what the problem is caused by.
