phone plus fax plus computer

i have one telephone line into my home and have two connections off it for sky tv a connection for combined phone fax and a connection for computer .My problem is when someone phones or sends a fax and im on the computer the internet stops working or if someone rings out or sends a fax same story .Can any one tell me whats wrong, is it that i have too many connections off the phone socket or is it something else. cheers

if it is a broadband connection
you should have been supplied with 2 filters, if not you need to obtain them
fit between socket and phone
fit 1 between socket and sky connection (if its not connected direct to your plate)

this should fix the fault

Stick a filter on EVERY piece of telephone equipment conected to the line. Not just your broadband modem/router.

cheers for that guys im sorted now i had a few filters in a box with other bits and bobs that was supplied by british telecom who are my broadband provider i didnt realise i needed them
