"A cold-calling firm has been fined a record £400,000 by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) for making almost 100 million nuisance calls."

"The company has since gone into liquidation but the ICO said it was committed to recovering the fine."

"Keurboom director Greg Rudd
told the Mirror newspaper that he found cold-calling "annoying" but said it was "part of life".

"I don't enjoy receiving them but that doesn't make them illegal," he said."

(this is not true)

"In October, the government announced plans to let the ICO fine company directors as well as their businesses."
(it is not known when or if a law will come effective)

Unfortunately fines, no matter how large, are not a deterrent if Companies can simply go bust.

Something I find disappointing.

I'm sure Transam would say that politicians preaching against minority groups have no effect.

That's why Kristallnacht didn't happen.

Oops, my mistake, it did.

who is preaching against minority groups ??

attacking minority groups has always been a popular technique by certain kinds of people, for example suggesting an affinity between migrants, refugees and rats.
