Took the air brick out and saw that a joist runs right in front of it. there is a gap between the bottom of the joist and the ground however.
I am unsure but the visible planks might well be the original floorboards, covered by a think plywood layer and then the flexible vinyl floor taped on top.
No particular sign of damp inside the house however the floor does slope a lot (down towards the airbrick).
Is it normal to have the air brick positionned there? If not is it he airbrick that was raised (if that is even a thing?) or the floor that sunk?
Any pointers re this mystery (unless all is normal) much appreciated!
