PHSYCO COMBI!!!

Hi,
I recently had a new bathroom suite installed. Prior to this i noticed that the (bar pressure) reading on the combi (worcester) was below 1 bar, probably caused by a slight leak from the valve on one of the cold pipes going into the combi.

My plumber fitted the new bathroom, in the process he tightened the leaky valve, and another rad which was leaking.

Since then the pressure gauge has been reading just over 1 bar, but when we have the central heating on it shoots up to over 2bar. Is this correct?

The problem i have is prior to the work, i could use the timer (honeywell) to switch on & off the heating. Now when the heating is switched on from the timer, i am unable to switch off from the timer and have to use the mains switch for the boiler.

I can also say that before the work the heating never used to get that hot due to the low pressure, although the thermostat was up to max(32 degrees).

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

What Worcester? There's dozens of them.

Sounds like a thermostat problem, or too small expansion vessel.

Its a Bosch (worcester 240).

the thermostat works ie: when i slide the dial past about 20 it clicks, and the boiler starts if there is demand.
but im unsure if the temperature of the rads is being affected by adjusting the dial, i'll check that tonight.

What about the boiler thermostat?

SOunds like you need a new timer, and a few misconceptions put right! The boiler would probably be sorted out by a full service.

The pressure on the dial does not affect any temperatures at all.
