Well folks, it's that time again!


This week we have a brand new lighting installation on a communal stairwell in a new block of trendy apartments


Someone forgot to nip up the switched live.

you sure it wasn't a cheap connector block?

we had some at work recently, 1 in 4 of the terminals actually cracked at the back when tightened..
cheap foreign imports hardly any brass in them at all..

Funny you should say that I had a batch of connector strip where the thread stripped if you tightened too much.

Something I've never experienced before.

It could well have been sub standard connectors. I didn't look that closely TBH.

I just cut out all the damaged wiring and re-terminated.


It seems to be the way with connectors now. At our wholesalers you can't even pay more for a better quality strip connector.
