Picture rail with recessed LED lighting

Hello,

I'm looking for product recommendations. I'm in a 1900 end of terrace, and doing extensive renovations. I would like to install a picture rail, but one that could double up as a LED coving. LED covings are generally not designed to work as picture rails, and vice versa. The LED strip I'm looking at using is 10mm wide, so this should work:

I understand that a picture hook may interfere with the LED strip, but a) it's low voltage, and b), I'll shorten the ends so the hook doesn't catch all the way around.
Does anyone have experience with this? Any other products/solutions you can suggest?
