My mum-in-law has just phoned me as her boiler pilot light has gone out. She has asked whether she can leave it like that and I don't know. She is aware that she will not have any hot water or heating but is 'happy' to wait till the morning. Is it safe to leave it with the pilot light out or does she have to do anything to make it safe?

Don`t worry the minimal amount of gas that comes out of a pilot will stop in aound a minute of flame being extinguished
