pimp my fireplace and adjacent area !!!

Hi

Please see pic of our fireplace and TV area etc.

We want to cover over the brick and mantel area ,not just paint over it

We are unsure what would look good

We will be having a cream and gold colour scheme with rustic oak furniture

The gas fire will be disconnected at the spur back at the meter,so the fireplace will be purely ornamental

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
