ok, so in the summer we got a water supply put in from an outside tap (on the house), under the drive to the (detached) garage where it went in, up through the roof and down into a utility room on the end of the garage.
unfortunately during a -10 night a couple of days ago the pipe burst inside the garage, right where the stop cock/isolation valve is. the pipework is insulated with foam but i guess because the valve wasn't it froze and burst at the joint.
whats the best way to insulate valves/joints/bends to prevent this happenign again?
