I have been getting a tapping/knocking in the cold water pipes, when I turn on a tap or flush the toilet.
If I turn on a tap slowly there is not problem.
The pipes are well lagged/cushioned so I do not think they are banging against anything.
Last week the ‘Water boys’ dug up my main stop cock outside my house, looking for a leak.
They found one, and did the repair.
I suppose it is logical to assume that this increased the water pressure to the house?
So far I have turned off my stop cock in the house, turned on all the taps and flushed the toilet.
Then I turned the water back on, but the problem is still there.
It seems as if it is a pressure thing, but any advice to remedy this would be most appreciated.
I don’t have a pressure gauge, (until it arrives from Amazon) but I turned the cold tap in the kitchen full on, and it took approx 3 seconds to fill a 1/2 litre jug.
Thank you,
Henry.
