Hi,

I have a minor leak on the top of this t-joint (see pic). Fitted by previous owner some years ago when the loft tank was put out of commission. The water supply comes into the loft in copper and joins a grey pipe which runs through the loft and then goes down into the bathroom.

I’m looking to turn off water supply
and replace the t-joint with an elbow joint.

I don’t recognise the old 15mm grey pipe. My question is should I use a Hep2o or Speedfit elbow, please? (each with appropriate pipe inserts)

Thanks in advance

Jon

That is the older style HEP2O fitting. The end caps unscrew to release the pipe and grab ring etc.,. It may be possible to replace a leaking O-ring??
Probably safest to cut off the grab rings as they'll damage any pipe in removal giving a potential for leaks (unless the special removal tool is available and the correct age of HEP2O).

NB That brown coax cable needs replacing, ideally. That's a far too sharp bend and it's now kinked badly where it's been ty-wrapped to the copper pipe and tugged.
