Hi,

I hope someone can help with a problem that's driving my wife and I crazy.

Our taps have started banging when the water is turned off, either by tap or when the washing machine is on.

We live in a terraced house and there's a scratching sound coming from the wall between us and the guy next door. I asked them if they were doing any plumbing work but was told no.

I'm at a loss to decide if it's a plumber I need or a pest controller. My wife is worried it's mice but I said mice can't affect pipes...or can they??

Any help or advice would be very gratefully received.

Many thanks

Dougie

Check all float/ball valves to see if they are dripping on your toilet and cisterns depending on what type of system you have,if one is then replace. Or failing that if the noise happens when turning a particular tap on/off then replace tap washer/cartridge. Also if you can locate the banging pipes clip them properly.
