PIR TO REPLACE SWITCH

Standard switch just switched live. If I wanted to replace the current switch for a PIR, would I just remove the swich and replace the two core with three core and earth from the CR to the PIR?? PS Haven't bought the PIR yet, so not sure what connections they offer.

Some PIR/switch replacements do not need a neutral, much easier to do this.

NOTE: some of these types are restricted to the type of lighting load. The Danlers example only works if the load is 40W or more...

Ok thanks, but what would happen from the ceiling rose (CR) if I had the other type of PIR?

Well if you can replace the two core and earth with Threecore and earth between the celing rose and the pir/switch as you suggest, I think you will find the pir' with neutrals work better than the no neutral option

The connections at the pir will most likely be Live, Switched live, Neutral and Earth
