Plain tile repair advice please ?

I've got a couple of dozen plain tiles to swap out this weekend. All of them apart from these two should be quite straightforward. Does anyone have any advice on how I can replace these without being able to nudge the ridge tiles up because they're well bedded down ?

It might be possible if you take out several tiles below to make a bit of room for the broken ones to be removed.

The tiles under the ridge are short "Tops" tiles unless somebody went to the trouble of shortening field tiles.
If the bed pointing is lightly chipped away the tops will be released, and you could with a little elbow room (As above)
slide fresh tops in, hook over the top batten (possibly double batten) and re-point.

However, sometimes the tops course was nailed in - in that case, a slate ripper might be needed.

FWIW, I'd work from a roof ladder.

AAMOI, the roof doesn't seem to have much of a pitch - or is it just the camera angle?
