New house and garden is in need of bit of a revamp. Overgrown shrubs, rotted decking and pooling of water in the grass. To look at at seems ok but not very practical.
Outside the dining room we have a small decked path way leading to a square area at the side of house. This is raised from the normal lawn.
1. I'm thinking of ripping this up and laying some hardcore followed by decoratative stone.
I will need some sort of edging/ retainer to keep gravel in from grass as this will be at a raised level...Will gravel boards be ok for this?
2. Also we get a bit of pooling of water in the winter on one side of the garden. I am thinking of raising this part of the lawn and again using hardcore/gravel. This will blend in with the above as it will create a path to the shed....My main question is would this stop the pooling as my thoughts are that the water will soak into the the gravel / hardcore and so will be below surface level if there is any water pooling.
Thanks for any advice
