Good evening.

I am looking to complete a front porch extension with a WC.
Looking for advice on whether planning drawings can be done myself or do that have to be from a ‘professional’.
How detailed do they need to be? Looking on the local town’s planning portal, similar extensions have pretty basic 1:50 front and side drawings but they are all from pre 2015.
Also, want to use my neighbours wall on one side which he has agreed to and will sign the party wall agreement. Extension to match height and profile of neighbours.
Photo attached with area and size.
Any help would be great, thanks.

Perfectly acceptable to do your own drawings, I did mine for our extension.

As ours was a full extension I did 8 drawings, 4 showing the existing elevations, 4 showing the planned elevations.

Walls can be squares and roofs triangles as long as the intent is shown. If the proposal is in any way contentious, the more detail and better drawn the better.

Review your local councils validation criteria for the particular type of work and application - that states the type of detail and information the drawings need to convey.
