In the front garden, we have a border around the lawn where I plant bedding plants every year. My Grandma has given us two Hydrangeas (sp?) which I plan to plant somewhere in the front garden.
The garden as it sits now is infested with little weeds, and in one corner a load of massive tall thistles which I believe have spread from next door (he has loads of them about 4ft high). I plan to accidentally spray some weedkiller his way . . .
I've tried weedkiller and pulling them up one by one, but nothing works on any of the weeds. They keep coming back.
Anyway, I plan to cover the soil with landscape cover and bark chippings, then cut holes for bedding plants next year.
Will this cure the weeds? Especially the vicious thistles?
