I am about to take down my bathroom tiles to re-tile, i am sure that some plaster will come with it but if it only comes off in patches (and is not very deep) is it OK to retile without re-plastering the missing patches and put a little extra tile adhesive on to make up the depth?
I know its a bit of a bodge but I only have 2 weeks to get the whole bathroom done before newborn offspring enter the world!

Better to patch it up with something like Onecoat plaster, if its not too deep, should be dry enough overnight. If you put the tile adhesive on too thickly it will take longer than this to go off unless you are using a powdered adhesive.

From experience, trying to bodge it ends up looking bodged - the tiles won't be flush, and even the slightest difference will catch the light differently and stand out.
Best to skim it with one coat, using a straight edge to level it off. Worth the effort in the long run.

Just my tuppence worth, but I find bonding coat much easier to apply and seeing as it is not required to be 'finished' would not be a problem.

One coat... Orrid stuff!
