Hi

I'm in a 1930's house and stripping the wall bare the plaster due to paint cracking. When stripping the walls back in pulling bits of plaster away with it in large areas.

I don't have the money to have the walls plastered, does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to get them smooth?

Picture below - Yellow is smooth plaster and the white is rough.

Thanks

are you using a hot steam stripper?

If so, stop.

What are you trying to strip off? Paint? Paper? Glue?

What tools are you using?

Im using a heat gun and a single-edged blade.

I think its layers of paint, paper and glue.

if you get plaster hot, it will degrade, crack, and fall off.

To get the paper and paste off, soak it with water by repeatedly misting it with a garden sprayer with half a drop of WUL per gallon of hot water.
