We had a bath run over a couple of months ago, we are now in the process of having our downstairs ceiling replaced by the insurers company.
The original ceiling was 1/2 inch plasterboard, the replacement looks like 3/8 but I assume that is not really a problem on the ceiling.
My main worry is that the plasterboard has been fitted and a first skim applied. Along the length and some parts on the width there is a prominent slightly proud line. Hopefully the decorator will not leave it like that. I thought the way to fit plasterboard was to buy it with a slight taper or scallop at the edge, so that when you joint it you have a slight recess to apply your tape onto, and then skim over this so there is a perfectly even join. I'm wondering if our ceiling has been done with square joints.
Does anyone know if this is ok or are we lilkely to be left with some lines at the joints?
