Hello everyone

I am having my kitchen renovated. There is a wall which has a mixture of exposed brickwork and old rendering. Instead of removing the rendering and then re-rendering and plastering, my builder has stuck plasterboard onto the wall.

Is the right way to do this?

Thanks
Zak :(

Fairly standard way these days of dealing with crap walls. Dot n dab plasterboard on. Only thing to watch out for is if you intend to fix wall units to this wall is to make sure you use long enough screws when fixing the brackets to the wall. Make sure they are long enough to provide a solid grip into the brickwork behind the plasterboard. ;) ;) ;)

Yes it's dot'n'dab method, been done for years.
I echo joinerjohn in regards to fixings, you will need to drill into the brick work behind the board for secure fixing for heavy units.
