Having some work done by council on a property I've just signed upto. Property is being skimmed after making a complaint regarding the state of the walls/ceiling... Been checking up on the work and thought I'd ask for advice on whether this looks normal first 3 pictures are bathroom been drying for around a week now. Last picture is bedroom which I can see a scratch in the plaster itself...

As a decorator, I wouldn't want to paint those ceilings but the lines you refer to in between the sheets of plasterboard look OK.

The scratch looks more like a ridge from your image, either way, it is pretty easy to rectify.

Do you have to paint the ceiling yourself?

If you have to sign the job off in any kind of way, then perhaps ask for high spots to be sanded back, and for low spots to filled and sanded back.

If you want to "fight" your case, apply a double mist coat (wet on wet) and you will get to see what the ceiling looks like when (partially) painted .

No don't have to paint it myself was going to get in a professional in once they've finished

I was going to pay for the plastering to be done also by a professional but family insisted on me making a complaint and letting council sort it out with one of there contractors
