Hi everyone,

So I know WHY it's happening, obviously the timber is slightly out of plumb, and it's bending the plasterboard when I screw it in along one edge. My question is how serious is this long term? It's only along one edge, one of the boards. As I was screwing, I could feel the board flexing a little, and after I finished, there was some tearing/settling noises. To be honest, it might have actually been a ripping noise, but it only lasted a couple of seconds, and it was very steady, and there doesn't appear to have been any actual damage to the board.

Is this acceptable, or is it a case of discarding the board and doing it again?

Thanks!

Pictures would help.

I can't imagine a situation where the stud frame is so out that the boards are getting damaged.

Sorry, no, I think I explained incorrectly.

So what I have is a top plate that is out of line by about 3mm. When I screw the top of the board in, it makes some cracking noises because it's straining to pull the board that extra 3mm to close the gap. Does that make sense? It's not making any noise at all now, just when I intitially screw in that row of screws. The rest of the board is perfectly aligned across all the studs and noggins, I just made a slight error with the top plate in this one part of the wall
