Hello,
Just a quick question.

I am going to plasterboard a downstairs toilet. It was formerly an outside coal shed, so it is only single brick. The floor has been concreted, and a membrane is in. Is it likely to get damp, and make the plasterboards damp eventually? Or is it likely to be ok. Incidentally, the walls are just going to be stippled onto the plasterboards, not plastered, and there might not be any heating in this room.

Thanks for any advice.

If its attached to the existing house then odds are it will get damp from condensation as the board being close to the single brickwork will be cold so you'll get mould growth. Is there any way you can insulate it? A lot of our house has been lined with insulated plasterboard and it seems to really help

there is a strong chance, as said above, that condensation will occur, particularly in very cold weather.

insulation and ventilation are enemies of damp and condensation. ;)

use kingspan insulation board, with a plastic vent strip each side the type used on roof soffit boards, it will also smart and decorative , and it is only a loo after all
