Hello after a little advice, please.
I need to close the gap between the new bath I’m installing and a perfectly level and sound, but just out of 90' (square) plastered wall. As you can see, I can get my fingers in at the one end and the bath touches at the other.
After getting things back to square I’m going to be tanking in the area, taping and sealing properly, etc.
Question 1: Can I dot-and-dab a new piece of plasterboard over the existing and new (1 year) plasterboard straight up including the electric shower at the tap end, closing the gap in the corner and bringing it to no gap at the end – hence hopefully sorting the problem.
Question 2: If 'Yes' to Q1, can I just prime and apply the tanking kit straight onto this un-plastered plasterboard.
Question 3: Should I just leave it all alone (i.e. out of square), tank the area as intended to make it waterproof, before tiling onto it and just use a decent sized piece of waterproof trim to hid the gap and seal it in?
Note: Moving the bath away much (other than enough for a single piece of plasterboard) isn’t an option, as it will throw out the new framing the bath sits in and ripping out the newly fitted plaster always isn’t an option for budget reasons.
Your professional advice to get me around this problem is very much appreciated.
Many Thanks,
