I’ve had my bathroom ceiling plastered a couple of months ago, we sanded and primed before painting. Recently we noticed this mark coming through. Could this be the plaster?

Guess it's an old ceiling filled and painted.
Probably condensation forming above shower that's creating a stain on ceiling

Oh.

I'd of used insulated board or packed out the void with insulation.
That's what you need, more insulation.
Extractor will also help

OP,
Locating an extractor directly above the shower enclosure would possibly be a great help?
If you've re-boarded the shower ceiling then its difficult seeing it as an old stain.
Shower surrounds like yours will not absorb moisture.
There's rust(?) marks showing on the LH metal trim.
The standard of skim finishing is very poor.
What have you re-pointed?

I have filled various disused socket and switch holes in plasterboard. Round the edge, where the plaster/ filler meets the original surface were similar yellowy stains. There's zero chance of it being water. I painted them over with a couple of coats of Dulux stain blocker paint. With a couple of coats of Dulux Trade emulsion on top, it's fine now.

I have also ditched a 4" wall fan in the en-suite for a 6" ceiling fan over the shower. Now there is no condensation on the mirrors or windows after a shower. The wall in the corner near the fan used to get damp and now it's drying out.
