I have a 1930's semi, a 5kw stove sits on the floor in the opening in the chimney breast. There will be a granite and timber surround fitted around that so the nearest plaster will be butted up against the timber surround roughly 12" from the stove. I have removed the original render off the chimney breast cos it was knackered.
A plasterer has said dot n dab plasterboard will be ok, but I'm concerned that when the breast heats up the p/b will ping off, what do you think?
